DESCRIPTION:Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents\n\nDry Documentaries\, by photographer Scott Farrell July/August 2024.\n\n Dry Documentaries is a photographic body of work that depicts both familiar and imagined landscapes while simultaneously exploring organic\, abstract art forms also encountered. The landscapes\, seascapes\, and abstract visions that make up this multi-part series are non-manipulated images captured as camera RAW files. Only minor contrast\, color\, and tonal balance adjustments have been applied to the digital negatives. It is of utmost importance that Farrell's prints are actual and accurate representations of what he has framed through the viewfinder. \n\n\n\nThe images may initially seem to portray a scope that is vast and expansive when\, in reality\, they often times measure less than eight to twenty-four inches in length or height. Dimensional perspective simulates a viewpoint that is removed or at a significant distance from the scene when\, in fact\, separation between the subject and the camera lens is deceptively close and intimate. These vast landscapes\, seemingly multi-dimensional\, exist within small\, planar areas.\n\n \n\nAfter 22 years working in the media industry\, Scott made the decision to follow a more personal\, meaningful path by officially launching Scott Farrell Photography in March of 2012.
