The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster announces its dates for the 2025 Field Guide Training Course. Six Monday sessions, 9am-2pm: March 17, 24, 31; April 7, 14, & 28, 2025. Plus, an opportunity to shadow a veteran guide on a walk during the week of April 21–25.
All sessions will include multiple presentations and a walk through a salt marsh, over Wing Island to Cape Cod Bay (i.e., dress appropriately and wear waterproof boots). During the school vacation week, April 21–25, guides will have an opportunity to shadow a veteran guide leading one of the daily scheduled family walks.
New guides will learn about the natural history of Cape Cod, Stony Brook Valley and Wing Island in Brewster, as well as how to lead walks and share information with visitors. Veteran guides are invited to participate to review information and to contribute knowledge and experience to the sessions. All guides will prepare for the new season of leading walks of school groups and families throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
