Artists are encouraged to paint en plein air around Orleans on Saturday, April 20. With a charming town and stunning shorelines, there are many opportunities for painting opportunities. Orleans Art Week Opening Reception 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Join friends, old and new, at a reception replete with painters, writers, live music and libations. The featured exhibition includes works by some of the Cape’s most sought-after artists along plein air pieces created that day. Respected painter and instructor Maryalice Eizenberg with demonstrate oil painting, and master pastelist Amy Sanders will demonstrate her techniques, from 5:00 to 6:00.

Mary McDermott, a 13th-generation Cape Codder, will be signing her books Salt in the Veins and Old Orleans: Memories of a Cape Cod Town. Jeff Norgeot will be signing Through My Eyes, a book of poetry inspired by his life along the woods and shorelines of the lower Cape.
Music will be supplied by Natalia Bonfini. Natalia was a top 50 finalist on American Idol’s 20th season. Reinventing popular covers, Natalia mashes up genres from soul to classic rock and back to her blues roots. She has a sound reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and Janis Joplin, and commanding lyrics such as those of Alanis Morissette.
