Come to Snow Library's Craine Room on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. to hear author Christie Lowrance give a talk on the life and legacy of Cape Cod's very own Thornton W. Burgess. Her book, "Nature's Ambassador: The Legacy of Thornton W. Burgess" shows that there was much more to Burgess, the man, than just a writer of children’s books: he was a dedicated naturalist who was honored by prestigious scientific institutions for his advocacy of wildlife and conservation practices that still resonate today. Christie has spent years examining Burgess’s life and work, and is eager to share the story of his extraordinary impact on early environmentalism and children’s literature. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing after the talk. All are welcome!
