Concerned citizens are organizing a peaceful Community Walk for Truth on Friday, April 3, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Rock Harbor parking lot in Orleans.
The gathering is intended to bring members of the community together in support of local individuals who are experiencing harm within coercive, high-control environments, while promoting truth, accountability, and healing.
Organizers say the walk is meant to be a respectful and supportive event for people, especially children, who live with practices such as humiliation rituals, family separation, and forced labor, and who feel unable to speak openly.
“Our community has always valued compassion and care for our neighbors,” Daneen Law of Orleans, MA said in a statement. “This walk is an opportunity to stand together peacefully in support of truth and healing, and to remind those who have been harmed that they are not alone.”
Participants are invited to gather at the Rock Harbor parking lot beginning at 11:30 AM. The event will include walking loops in the parking lot and opportunities for community members to connect and share resources. Participants of all abilities are welcome, and those who prefer not to walk are encouraged to bring a chair and take part.
Organizers emphasize that the event is intended to be peaceful and inclusive, welcoming anyone who wishes to show support for transparency, accountability, and the well-being of members of the community.
All are welcome to attend.
