Get ready to get messy and make fantastic art as Sheryl Jaffe brings her fabulous Family Papermaking Workshops back to Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Saturday April 18, with 90-minute sessions at 9:30am and 12pm.
Learn how to turn plants in paper and craft 3D sculptures inspired by sea-life in a unique mash-up of science, art and imagination. Come prepared to get wet!
We’ll provide the crafting materials, but we recommend you bring:
- A cookie sheet or flat cardboard (for transporting your wet sculpture home)
- A towel and a rolling pin (for “quick-drying the paper)
- An apron (waterproof is preferred)
Sheryl Jaffe has been exhibiting her artwork throughout New York and New England for over 30 years. She works with organic materials, handmade paper from local and exotic plant fibers and found objects to create 2 and 3-dimensional works. Jaffe studied traditional hand papermaking in Japan and China and has taught papermaking at home and abroad with students aged 4-84. She now volunteers in the community with the ArtPeace Makers and with Delilah’s Healing and Educational Collective in bringing Wampanoag culture and education to the Outer Cape.
