Join Provincetown artist and performer, Michael Sullivan, on an adventure in mask making for adults. Michael's work includes sculptural headware made with materials ranging from natural objects to jewelry, broken mirror shards and found objects. Participants are highly encouraged to bring any personal items they'd like to incorporate in their mask such as, found objects, upcycled clothing or fabric, broken jewelry or mirrors, natural elements and small pieces for embellishment.
“Ornate and decadent, yet composed of elements from the natural world like peacock feathers, flowers, and branches as much as jewels, shards of broken mirror, and found objects, Mike Sullivan’s masks, crowns, and headpieces evoke dichotomies, split personality, clashes of materials, ideas, and ideals. And yet the dramas within them ultimately feel balanced.”
