Organized jointly by the Orleans Citizens Forum and the LifeTime Learning Program at Snow Library, this Forum will offer a thoughtful, community-focused look at immigration as it is experienced here on the Lower Cape. Through brief presentations and guided discussion, participants will explore three key areas: demographics—who immigrants are, with a focus on the skills and contributions they bring to the Cape; enforcement—how federal immigration policies are impacting our community and how our local resources respond; and stories—personal experiences that highlight the human side of immigration.
The session includes moderated discussion, Q&A, practical action steps, and resources for further learning, offering a clear picture of how immigration shapes our local community.
Presenters:
- Roderick MacDonald, Co-Chair of the Refugee Support Team of the Nauset Interfaith Association,
- Scott MacDonald, Chief Orleans Police Department
- Wesley Silva, Pastor of the Orleans United Methodist Church
