Latham Centers, a leader in supporting children and adults with complex special needs, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Advancement (DOA). This leadership role is an integral part of the organization, responsible for driving fundraising efforts, managing grants, and strengthening relationships that support Latham’s mission and long-term growth.
The Director of Advancement will work closely with the VP of Advancement, Advancement Officer, Marketing Team, and program leadership to expand and diversify Latham’s donor base, increase visibility, and secure funding for key initiatives. This role is ideal for a collaborative professional who is passionate about nonprofit development and building meaningful community partnerships.
Location: Yarmouth Port, MA
Schedule: 9:00-5:00, Monday-Friday (some weekend and evening events)
Compensation: $70,000-$85,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, and program leadership to effectively present Latham Centers’ mission and funding needs to sponsors, donors, and grant funders
- Partner with Finance on grant and fundraising event budgeting, revenue tracking, and fund allocation/restrictions
- Manage and execute all standing fundraising events, including sponsor stewardship and new sponsor outreach
- Lead the full grant lifecycle, including research, proposal development, submission, and post-award implementation
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing donors, funders, and community partners while identifying new funding opportunities
- Oversee grant reporting processes in collaboration with Finance, ensuring compliance with all requirements, including Uniform Guidance for federal grants
- Research and monitor funding trends to proactively position Latham Centers for new opportunities
- Develop, write, and maintain organized records of grant proposals and funding history
- Identify and evaluate local, state, federal, and private funding opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of donors
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative work style
- Working knowledge of fundraising software, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office
- Commitment to Latham Centers’ mission and values
- Ability to work with professionalism, teamwork, and respect for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities
Preferred:
- Experience in fundraising and nonprofit development
- Professional writing, copy-editing, or newsletter experience
- Demonstrated success in event planning and execution
- Experience managing donor or grant relationships
